Converter Tipping Operator Job Description

Main job duties of 'converter tipping operator' include: Checks the schedules related to races, observing the data on note board, to see if the pans are able to receive the liquid steel; Coordinates the position of converter with tilting of ladle when receiving the liquid pig iron and scrap channels, orienting itself to signalman, to ensure perfect loading; Operates the rotating chutes system, activating the control buttons, to add ferroalloy to steel pan; Tilts the converter, activating the control panel, to empty the slag; Pours the steel into the ladle, coordinating the ladle carriage movement with converter tilting, to ensure correct operation; Performs work, observing safety standards and correct use of personal protective equipment indicated for position.
