Employee Duties & Responsibilities

1) Analyzes blueprints, specifications, proposals, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services, applying knowledge of specialized methodologies, techniques, principles, or processes.

2) Reviews data to define material and labor requirements prepares itemized lists.

3) Computes cost factors prepares estimates used for management purposes, like planning, organizing and scheduling work, preparing bids, selecting vendors or subcontractors and determining cost effectiveness.

4) Conducts special studies to develop and establish standard hour related cost data or effect cost reductions.

5) Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates resolve issues.

6) May specialize according to particular service performed, type of product manufactured, or phase of work involved, like tool fixture costs, production costs, construction costs, or material costs..

Abilities

  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Manage own time and the time of others.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, organization rules, and the democratic political process.
