This job description (JD) describes the core job duties of primer inserting machine adjuster occupation:

MAIN JOB ROLES (CAREER TASKS):

1) Sets up maintains in operation automatic machines that insert explosive primers in cartridge cases.

2) Installs and adjusts punches, dies and feed fingers and regulates feeding & ejection mechanisms, using handtools gauges.

3) Frees jams replaces worn or broken parts.

4) Polishes steel punches and feed fingers to remove burrs, scratches, or adhering brass, using speed lathe emery cloth.

5) May feed plates or boards of primers into machine hoppers.

6) May instruct new workers in machine operation use of gauges..
