Position Summary:

1) Collect money for drinks served.

2) Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol.

3) Attempt to limit problems liability related to customers excessive drinking by taking steps like persuading customers to stop drinking, or ordering taxis or other transportation for intoxicated patrons.

4) Clean glasses, utensils, and bar equipment.

5) Take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from patrons.

6) Serve wine, and bottled or draft beer.

7) Clean bars, work areas, and tables.

8) Mix ingredients, like liquor, soda, water, sugar, and bitters, to prepare cocktails other drinks.

9) Serve snacks or food items to customers seated at the bar.

10) Order or requisition liquors supplies.

11) Ask customers who become loud obnoxious to leave, or physically remove them.

12) Slice pit fruit for garnishing drinks.

13) Arrange bottles glasses to make attractive displays.

14) Plan, organize, and control the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar.

15) Supervise the work of bar staff other bartenders.

16) Prepare appetizers like pickles, cheese, and cold meats.

17) Stock bar with beer, wine, liquor, and related supplies like ice, glassware, napkins, or straws.
