1) Compiles information on materials, like books and periodicals, and prepares catalog cards to identify materials to integrate information into catalog.

2) Verifies author, title and classification number on sample catalog card received from Classifier against corresponding data on title page.

3) Fills in additional information, like publisher, date of publication and edition.

4) Examines material notes additional information, like bibliographies, illustrations, maps, and appendices.

5) Copies classification number from sample card into material for identification.

6) Files cards into assigned sections of catalog.

7) Tabulates number of sample cards according to quantity of material catalog subject headings to define amount of new cards to be ordered or reproduced.

8) Prepares inventory card to record purchase information location of material.

9) Requisitions additional cards.

10) Records new information, like death date of author revised edition date, to amend cataloged cards.

11) May supervise activities of other workers in unit..
