Position Summary:

1) Supervises and coordinates activities of Cooks hotel and rest. and other workers engaged in preparing cooking foodstuffs.

2) Observes workers engaged in preparing, portioning and garnishing foods for making sure that methods of cooking and garnishing sizes of portions are as prescribed.

3) Gives instructions to cooking personnel in fine points of cooking.

4) Cooks and carves meats, and prepares dishes, like sauces, during rush periods and for banquets other social functions.

5) Assumes responsibility for kitchen in absence of Executive Chef hotel rest. .

6) In establishments not employing Executive Chef hotel and rest. , may be designated Supervising Chef hotel rest. ..

Minimum skills required:

  • Identify complex problems and review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
  • Manage own time and the time of others.
  • Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, organization rules, and the democratic political process.
