1) Repairs, adjusts, and maintains machines and equipment used in submarine-cable office or station to control cable traffic, using electrical meters handtools.

2) Examines malfunctioning machines and equipment, like automatic transmitters, direct writers, perforating machines, printers relays and siphon recorders, to define defects, using meters, like voltmeter, ohmmeter and capacity meter.

3) Makes adjustments, or dismantles machines for repairs or replacement of parts, using handtools.

4) May make temporary or emergency repairs with improvised parts or sections.
