The Meaing of Human Safety

The subject of human safety is based on social studies. The subject deals with work that's going on in society to avoid injuries and accidents. In addition, it deals with how people and their surroundings can be protected against injury and how injuries can be prevented and alleviated.

Vocational Guide

The teaching of human safety must develop students to acquire the knowledge to be capable to draw attention to and point out injury risks plus the ability to participate in society's injury prevention work.
In the teaching, students must be given the chance to develop knowledge of authorities and companies that are responsible for injury prevention work. Students will also be given the chance to develop knowledge of factors in society that can cause harm to people and surrounding environment. Elderly and children are especially vulnerable groups, and teaching should therefore give students the chance to develop knowledge about how the safety of these groups can be improved.
Across the teaching, students will be given the chance to develop the ability to meet and communicate with people in difficult situations in an ethical and pedagogical way.

Knowledge of authorities and companies responsible for safety of citizens.
Knowledge of laws and another regulations that arrange the zone of activity.
Knowledge of drug and gambling abuse and their effects.
Knowledge of violence and threats in society and ability to exercise self-defense.
Knowledge of systematic accident work and injury prevention work with a focus on target group of children and elderly plus the ability to participate in injury prevention work.
Ability to communicate and cooperate with others in a professional ethical and pedagogical way.
