Electromyographic Technician Job Contract Example

Contracting for job title / position: "electromyographic technician" grade III.

Job duties and responsibilities - are to:

1) Measure electrical activity in peripheral nerves, using electromyograph Emg instrument, for use by physician in diagnosing neuromuscular disorders

2) Explain procedures to patient to obtain cooperation relieve anxieties during test

3) Rubs electrode paste on patients skin to make sure contact of electrodes

4) Attach surface recording electrodes to extremity in which activity is being measured to detect electrical impulse

5) Attach electrodes to electrode cables or leads connected to Emg instrument selects nerve conduction mode on Emg

6) Operate Emg instrument to record electrical activity in peripheral nerves

7) Press button on manually held surface stimulator electrode to deliver pulse send electrical charge along peripheral nerve

8) Monitor response on oscilloscope presses button to record nerve conduction velocity

9) Measure as well as records time plus distance between stimulus response, manually or using computer, and also calculates velocity of electrical impulse in peripheral nerve

10) Remove electrodes from patient upon conclusion of test as well as cleans electrode paste from skin, using alcohol cotton
