Contracting for job title / position: "radiologic technician" grade III.

Job duties and responsibilities - are to:

1) Determine patients x-ray needs by reading requests or instructions from physicians

2) Make exposures necessary for the requested procedures, rejecting repeating work that does not meet established standards

3) Process exposed radiographs using film processors or computer generated methods

4) Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties obtain cooperation

5) Perform procedures, like linear tomography, mammography, sonograms, joint cyst aspirations, routine contrast studies, routine fluoroscopy, or examinations of the head, trunk, or extremities under supervision of physician

6) Prepare set up x-ray room for patient

7) Provide assistance to physicians or other technologists in the performance of more complex procedures

8) Coordinate work of other technicians or technologists when procedures require more than one person

9) Assist with on-the-job training of new employees or students or provide input to supervisors regarding training performance

10) Maintain a current file of examination protocols

11) Operate mobile x-ray equipment in operating room, emergency room, or at patients bedside

12) Provide assistance in radiopharmaceutical administration, monitoring patients vital signs notifying the radiologist of any relevant changes

13) Prepare contrast material, radiopharmaceuticals, or anesthetic or antispasmodic drugs under the direction of a radiologist

14) Operate digital picture archiving communications systems

15) Assure that sterile or non-sterile supplies like contrast materials, catheters, films, chemicals, or other required equipment, are present in working order or requisition materials

16) Collect maintain records of patients examined, examinations performed, patient medical histories, views taken, or technical factors used

17) Complete quality control activities, monitor equipment operation, and also report malfunctioning equipment to supervisor

18) Perform general administrative tasks, like answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, or pulling filing films

19) Transport patients to or from exam rooms

20) Provide students or other technicians with suggestions of additional views, alternate positioning, or improved techniques to make sure the images produced are of the highest quality
