Job duties and responsibilities - are to:

1) Operate plate graining machine to roughen grain faces of flexible sheets of zinc or aluminum metal for use in offset-photolithographic printing

2) Operate power shear to cut sheets of aluminum zinc to size plus clamps them to bed of graining machine tub tray

3) Operate hydraulic lifting & tilting mechanism attached to machine to load unload machine with specified amount of steel or wooden balls, water and additionally abrasive

4) Wash sediment from plates with water hose at end of graining cycle as well as places on conveyor for further washing under water jets drying under heating unit

5) Examine each plate with magnifier at inspection table for uniformity, size, and also structure of grain

6) Stack plates in shipping crate

7) Roll out hammers used plates to remove gripper marks, dents, and also bent corners

8) Lubricate machine replaces worn bearings

9) May grain plates by wet or dry sandblasting

10) May feed plates through graining machine having reel-type nylon brush which roughens surface with abrasive water

11) May grain plates with glass marbles
