"Lumber inspector" grade III.

Responsibilities - are to:

1) Inspect grades milled, rough-sawed, or dimensional stock lumber according to standards

2) Examine lumber on table, moving belt, chain conveyor, or in racks for defects, like knots, stains, decay, splits, faulty edges, pitch pockets, wormholes plus defective milling

3) Grade lumber, using caliper rule, to make sure specified dimensions

4) Mark lumber to indicate grade processing instructions, using marker

5) Tally pieces of lumber according to grade board footage

6) May determine cuts to be made to obtain highest marketable value from material

7) May remove unsatisfactory pieces from conveyor or table place pieces on stacks, in bins, or on carts

8) May scale board footage, using calibrated scale on lumber ruler, and also record results

9) May be designated according to lumber graded as Flooring Grader saw. as well as plan. ; Green-Lumber Grader woodworking ; or according to location of work as Dock Grader woodworking ; Green-Chain Marker saw. plus plan. ; Planer-Mill Grader saw. plan.

10) May review work of other graders be designated Check Grader woodworking

11) Dry-Lumber Grader woodworking ; Milled-Lumber Grader woodworking ; Puncher saw. plan. ; Rough-Lumber Grader woodworking
