20) Provide information about the physical emotional processes involved in the pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum periods

21) Provide necessary medical care for infants at birth, including emergency care like resuscitation

22) Provide, or refer patients to other providers for, education or counseling on topics like genetic testing, newborn care, contraception, and breastfeeding

23) Refer patients to specialists for procedures like ultrasounds biophysical profiles

24) Suture perineal lacerations

25) Test patients hemoglobin, hematocrit, and blood glucose levels

26) Compile evaluate clinical practice statistics

27) Complete birth certificates

28) Counsel women regarding the nutritional requirements of pregnancy

29) Collaborate in research studies

30) Incorporate research findings into practice as appropriate

31) Provide information about community health social resources

32) Provide postpartum patients with contraceptive family planning information

33) Recommend the use of vitamin and mineral supplements to enhance the health of patients children

34) Treat patients symptoms with alternative health care methods like herbs hydrotherapy
