2) Fold printed sheets to form signatures pages assembles signatures in numerical order to form book body

3) Attach endpapers to top bottom of book body

4) Sews signatures and endpapers together along spine of book body, using sewing machine, or glues endpapers signatures together along spine, using brush or glue machine

5) Compress sewed or glued signatures to reduce book to required thickness, using handpress or smashing machine

6) Trim edges of book to size, using cutting or book trimming machine or hand cutter

7) Insert book body in device that forms back edge of book into convex shape produces grooves to facilitate attachment of cover

8) Apply glue to back of book, using brush or glue machine, and attaches cloth backing headband

9) Apply color to edges of signatures, using brush, pad, or atomizer

10) Cuts binder board to specified dimension, using board shears, hand cutter, or cutting machine

11) Cuts cover material, like leather or cloth, to specified dimensions and fits glues material to binder board manually or by machine

12) Glue outside endpapers to cover

13) Place bound book in press that exerts pressure on cover until glue dries

14) May imprint and emboss lettering, designs, or numbers on cover, using gold, silver, or colored foil stamping machine

15) May pack, weigh, and stack books on pallet for shipment

16) May specialize in repairing rebinding damaged or worn books for resale or reuse.
