Writing a motivation letter always takes more time than you would like. Just thinking about the question "Why would you like to be part of this organization?" causes stress in many people. 2. What is a good structure for a motivation letter?

A good motivation letter structure is essential to leave a good impression.

The structure of a motivation letter is fairly simple and consists of three parts.

Part 1 is the introduction in which you introduce yourself and indicate which position you're applying for. Don't devote more than 1 paragraph to this and use original opening sentences.

Part 2 consists of the core and must contain your motivation. Usually you can do this in one long paragraph or in 2 shorter paragraphs. In that case, make sure that the content is well divided over the two paragraphs.

Part 3 is to close your motivation letter with a few good closing sentences.

A good motivation letter answers three questions:

3. How should you write a motivation letter?

Above we explained how a motivation letter is structured. The question, however, is how to create a motivation letter that stands out? One way to do this is to tailor the letter to the position and the company you're applying for. So don't use a general example letter. These are a few basic elements you can apply:

- Find out who is in charge of the application and focus on the person in your opening sentence. For example ' Dear Mr Jansen ' instead of ' Dear Sir / Madam '
- Look carefully at the job requirements in the vacancy description. Make sure your letter is in line with the three main requirements.
- Show that you share the values ​​of the organization. Be specific.
- Your letter should really make it clear that you really want to work for the organization. So state specific reasons, show knowledge and express passion for the field.
- Finally an important DON't: DON'T LIE! Recruiters can see through untruths. So don't lie. Because this decreases your chances of being invited for an interview.

- You are trained for it, enjoy it and it gives you energy
- The job offers you a new opportunity / challenge
- You have the opportunity to contribute something unique
- You can determine a lot yourself / you've a lot of responsibility and this suits you
- You have a clear vision and can express this in your job

The motivation for a job varies widely and depends on your personality, background, knowledge, experience and motives. The most important thing is to try to figure out for yourself why you want the job. Write it down and see if you can summarize this into 1 or 2 arguments.

Then the question is always why you want to work for a particular company. There are often several reasons for this:

- An acquaintance / friend of yours also works there and has gotten you excited
- You have come into contact with the company in a different way and have been impressed

- The core values ​​of the company appeal to you
