Think of your job description as an ads for the position you're posting. Use a clear description that is accurate, engaging and detailed enough to pique the interest of the most qualified candidates. Here are some simple tips for writing a good job description:

  • Target a job title that exactly match the position: Highlight it and above all, think about it carefully. The name of the position has a crucial role so make sure it is understandable to all potential future candidates. Avoid using jargon specific to your business!
  • Clear Company Description: Explain in a few words, following the title, what is positive about your company, its values, its mission. If, for example, you have received an award for your corporate values, indicate it. Now is the time to make your business attractive to the candidate.
  • Detailed job responsibilities and duties: List the missions attached to the position and group them by major themes. Please note: this is the heart of the ad! The list of missions allows the candidate to understand the content of the position, to know if it corresponds to the type of job he is looking for, but also to project himself. Don't forget to mention the context of the various missions: will the employee have to carry them out independently, under the responsibility of another person, in collaboration with a given service or provider, etc.

  • The letter has a very simple layout, but it must be well written: personal data in the upper left, data of the company you are referring to in the upper right, subject of the letter in the center, body of the letter, finally place, date and signature.
  • The letter will allow you to evaluate your ability to express yourself in Italian, therefore, be clear, concise, precise and direct; it is preferable to use simple sentences and predetermined formulas.
