  • refin., pipe lines in sampling, gauging, and testing oil, and in controlling flow of oil
  • Report on oil movements and pipeline operations to Dispatcher, Oil petrol. gas, petrol
  • refin., pipe lines , using teletype or telephone
  • Schedule maintenance and repair of pumps, engines, generators, and corrosion-mitigation pneumatic-control equipment

Coal Pipeline Operator Occupation

Job Duties:

  • Control, from master panel, semiautomatic processing plant that pulverizes and mixes coal with water introduces resulting slurry into pipeline for transportation
  • Move controls to start and regulate conveyors, pumps, grinding mills, tank agitators and auxiliary equipment that convert coal to slurry of specified density acidity, following standard procedures
  • Review laboratory reports & observes panel lights, flowmeters and recording instruments to maintain standard conditions in plant pipeline
  • Give directions to assistant to open valves that regulate admission of slurry into pipeline and to make manual adjustments to processing distribution equipment
  • Maintain operating log from instrument readings
  • May control booster pumping stations from panel or direct station operations by telephone.

Job Duties:

  • Direct and coordinates operational and maintenance activities of system of compressor stations, located at transmission terminals and at intermittent points along pipeline, to boost pressure in pipeline expedite transmission of natural gas to distribution points
  • Direct preparation of operation, safety and maintenance manuals for compressor stations
  • Direct & coordinates, through Compressor-Station Engineer, Chief pipe lines , activities of personnel to make sure adjustments of gas pressures for transmission are performed safely in accordance with prescribed procedures
  • Select, and directs training of, supervisory personnel for compressor stations
  • Develop plans for additional stations, as required, and recommends design of station structures types of machinery, like compressors, driving engines, generators, and auxiliary equipment to engineering personnel
  • Direct and coordinates activities, like testing of new or repaired machinery, and maintenance and repair of machinery station structures, to make sure uninterrupted transmission of gas.

Controls Senior Technician Occupation

Job Duties:

  • Develop design modifications and provides technical assistance to workers engaged in installation, modification, and repair of gas compressor station controls instruments
  • Tour compressor station and inspects or tests station control apparatus, using standard test equipment handtools
  • Confer with superintendent for defining operational problems efficiency of automatic control systems
  • Analyze operational problems develops modifications in design to improve efficiency
  • Train workers provides technical assistance in installation, maintenance, and repair techniques
  • Confer with manufacturers representatives and submits proposed design modifications to improve efficiency of compressor station controls instrumentation.

Crew Supervisor Occupation

Job Duties:

  • Supervise and coordinates activities of workers engaged in maintenance of oil and gas pipelines pipeline facilities, like pumping units, compressor stations, tank farms, and right-of-ways
  • Direct workers engaged in patrolling, inspecting, repairing and installing pipelines and communication systems, painting pipes tanks and in clearing right-of-way

  • Relay messages to stations to direct flow of oil gas, using Pbx switchboard
  • Transmit, receives and posts information pertaining to pumping schedules, oil & gas pressures, gauging reports, oil stocks and storage capacities and physical characteristics of gas and oil in storage lines, like temperatures, specific gravities, Btu and sediment content
  • Receive, records, and prepares reports of quantities of oil and gas pumped or compressed and received by stations tank farms
  • Perform other clerical duties, like typing reports and records keeping files
  • May communicate with field personnel, using radio-telephone equipment.

Field Pipelines Supervisor Occupation

Job Duties:

  • Supervise coordinates activities of workers constructing, operating, and maintaining oil field pipeline gathering system
  • Direct gauging, sampling, testing and pumping of products from individual wells to central point for dispatch by main pipeline to refineries terminals
  • Review bids for pipeline repair work from construction firms and recommends acceptance or rejection of bids
  • Inspect installation of new pipelines repair of equipment, like pumps, engines, tanks, and reservoirs
