Roll threader Operator Occupation

Job Duties:

  • Sets up operates one or more automatic machines to roll-thread hot or cold forged bolt blanks, according to work orders
  • Install specified roll-threading dies in machine, using wrenches rule
  • Adjust distance between roll-threading dies to set pressure of threading dies on bolt shank, using rule following product specifications
  • Fill feed mechanism with stock, or feeds bolt blanks by hand starts machine
  • Measure bolts with micrometer, thread gauge, or rule, and adjusts dies stops to maintain specified dimensions

Job Duties:

  • Supervise coordinates activities of workers engaged in forging, trimming, thread rolling, and tapping of metal stock to produce nuts, bolts, screws, or other fasteners
  • Train workers in machine operations
  • Perform duties as described under Supervisor any industry Master Title
  • May set up repair machines
  • May inspect finished products for conformance to specifications.

Tapper Operator Occupation

Job Duties:

  • Sets up operates one or more automatic tapping machines to cut internal threads in nut blanks
  • Install specified tap in spindle, using wrench rule
  • Fill feed hopper with nut blanks starts machine
  • Measure threaded nuts with gauge changes worn taps to maintain specified tolerances
  • May set up machines for other workers to operate.
