Roles and Responsibilities

My job duties were to:

1) Direct coordinates radio or television station activities concerned with acquisition, installation, and maintenance, or with modification of studio broadcasting equipment

2) Evaluate studio needs for new broadcasting equipment to define if acquisition would be justified considering such factors as cost, availability and improvement gain in technical performance and authorizes acquisition according to evaluation

3) Direct activities concerned with layout & design of electrical circuitry for acquired equipment to make sure conformance with codes safety regulations

4) Establish procedures for operation maintenance of studio, remote control, and microwave transmission equipment

5) Inspect, and directs testing and maintenance of studio, remote, and airborne broadcasting equipment to make sure operational performance meets company standards and rules regulations of Federal Communications Commission

6) Develop modification plans for existing broadcasting equipment to improve technical performance

7) Direct modification testing of equipment to make sure operational performance meets specified standards

8) Prepare repair maintenance schedules for studio, remote, and airborne broadcasting equipment to prevent interruption of broadcasts

9) Contact telephone company personnel to make sure leased landlines or microwave facilities are operative available for network broadcasting [Commercial Engineer 003.187-014]

10) Prepare annual budget for engineering department controls expenditures within budget limitations
