This job description (JD) describes the core job duties of filtration plant mechanic occupation:

MAIN JOB ROLES (CAREER TASKS):

1) Maintains and repairs machines and equipment used to process and distribute water for human consumption industrial use.

2) Dismantles, or partially dismantles electric motors, turbines, pumps, hydraulic valves, chlorinators, limers, meters, gauges and other equipment, to gain access to or remove faulty parts, using hand power tools, like wrenches, screwdrivers and hoists.

3) Repairs or replaces defective parts.

4) Inspects machines equipment periodically, lubricating moving parts, or replacing worn parts to prevent breakdown or malfunctioning.

5) May operate plant equipment to process distribute water [Water-Treatment-Plant Operator ]..
