This job description (JD) describes the core job duties of accounts clerk occupation:

MAIN TASKS:

1) Refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.

2) Interview customers to obtain information needed for opening accounts or renting safe-deposit boxes.

3) Inform customers of procedures for applying for services like ATM cards, direct deposit of checks, and certificates of deposit.

4) Obtain credit records from reporting agencies.

5) Collect and record customer deposits fees, and issue receipts using computers.

6) Investigate and correct errors upon customers request, according to customer bank records.

7) Perform teller duties as required.

8) Execute wire transfers of funds.

9) Duplicate records for distribution to branch offices.

10) Issue initial replacement safe-deposit keys to customers, and admit customers to vaults.

11) Perform foreign currency transactions sell travelers checks.

12) Schedule repairs for locks on safe-deposit boxes.

13) Process loan applications.
