5) Turn switch to reverse gas fire from one side of gas-and-air regenerative chambers to other side to equalize heat in furnace

6) Observe color of molten glass through furnace opening or reads gauges or pyrometer to define when furnace temperature has reached prescribed level

7) Collect sample of molten glass for laboratory analysis

8) Make adjustments on equipment to correct deviations from specifications

9) Record batch mixing, glass melting, and also production data

10) May control furnace to melt as well as fuse premixed ingredients be designated Tank-Furnace Operator .
