SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in development & implementation of marketing & sales plan for facility.
  • Develop & implement a 30/60/90 sales call plan with a focus on planned events.
  • Develop plans to increase referrals from current & new sources.
  • Respond to inquiry calls from hospital discharge planners, families & other referral sources.
  • Conduct facility tours.
  • Manage admission process by maintaining updated bed availability & facility services information at all times.
  • Manage inquiry process professionally, timely & with appropriate follow-up.
  • Effectively manage occupancy levels & census/premium mix enhancement.
  • Make sales calls outside facility to medical, insurance, legal & financial professionals, senior organizations, appropriate special interest groups, hospital discharge planners & other community contacts.
  • Develop & maintain relationships to advise referral sources of bed availability & new products & services & efficiently meet daily needs of community at large.
  • Promote facility & its services to referring agencies.
  • Maintain current database of existing & potential referral sources.
  • Visit all referral sources periodically.
  • Alert appropriate department supervisors & building staff of projected changes, i.e. admissions, bed changes & discharges, by chairing daily admission meeting to discuss forthcoming changes.
  • Provide nursing staff with an accurate assessment of potential residents, including all documentation needed.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with Director of Nursing & Business Office Manager to assure appropriate & efficient decisions about prospective admissions.
  • Recommend admission decisions to facility management. When admissions determinations are made, communicate with nursing & housekeeping about appropriate room & bed selection.
  • Obtain appropriate admission papers & signatures from residents or responsible parties prior to admission. Communicate special needs of new admits to staff to facilitate a smooth transition.
  • Maintain a waiting list in compliance with state & federal guidelines.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of Federal & State regulations & reimbursement (Managed Care, Medicare & Medicaid).
  • Provide assistance with new employee orientations on these topics & admission process.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of managed care referral process.
  • Monitor inquiry, admission & census trends. Prepare an inquiry log & other reports as required. Monitor all active & inactive inquiries.
  • Monitor & evaluate customer satisfaction. Audiences include new admissions, post-discharges, current residents & families, community sources & inquiries that were unable to admit. Share results with management team & others as appropriate to develop action plans as needed.
  • Develop & implement special events & presentations targeted at community education, establishing & maintaining status for facility as expert on skilled nursing, specialty programs & rehabilitation care in community.
  • Visit residents during hospital stays.
  • Attend in-service education programs in order to meet facility educational requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality of resident & facility records/information.
  • Protect residents from neglect, mistreatment & abuse.
  • Protect personal property of residents of facility.
